So why not take a heavy duty industrial CNC milling machine and all of its capabilities and shrink it down to a desktop sized variant for handling all of your small parts? How much can we shrink the footprint and the cost while maintaining the quality a machine shop provides? Well that's exactly what he did and the result is the Shariff DMC2 Desktop CNC. A high power high precision metal cutting CNC for an incredibly low price that fits in any garage or workshop.
What inspired you to make this project?
The need to make a low cost high accuracy high power desktop CNC machine that people can benefit from, since normally CNC machining and machines cost a fortune and is not easily accessible to hobbyists, schools, makerspaces, startups etc.
