OUTHOUSE RACE!
Coney Island Outhouse Race: A Wacky Spectacle of Speed, Creativity, and Pure Fun!
Step right up to the newest, zaniest event at the Maker Faire Coney Island– the Outhouse Race! This competition strains your technical skills to the max. Inventors, tinkerers, and thrill-seekers are compelled to design, build, and race their very own mobile outhouses in a mad dash for the finish line. Picture a parade of DIY porta-potties on wheels, each bursting with eccentric designs, from steampunk privies with gears and pipes to tropical tiki huts and neon-lit space pods. The goal? Outrun your rivals in a head-to-head showdown of speed, ingenuity, and (hopefully) good plumbing! Racers push, pull, or pedal their way to victory, navigating the track lined with cheering crowds. Teams are judged not just on speed but also on creativity, engineering, and overall hilarity, with one special awards given by the judge for creativity… or something. With a our special mixture of carnival atmosphere, Coney Island’s historic charm, and the wild imagination of the Maker community, the Outhouse Race is more than just a competition – it’s a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the joy of building something ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. So grab your toolbox, strap in, and GET READY to roll… because in this race, anything can happen when the outhouses are on the loose! |
