‘A Moment of Love’ translates an emotionally complex notion into an experiential and interactive medium, using a combination of material poetry, physical properties of light and optics, layered sounds, and hypnotic visuals. It isolates the viewers from their surroundings, mirroring the figure-group relationship identified in romantic films as the first spark of love.

What inspired you to make this project?
Romance films and media have been a point of solace, hopefulness and wonder all through my life. The simplicity of this human emotion which at its core is vulnerable yet brave, bashful yet loud, is a profound mystery. The feeling of love at first sight isn’t reserved for romantic connections but is rather a sudden connection to a moment, a person, a song, an object.
These abstract emotional experiences are hard to describe and even harder to represent in media, often seen as rudimentary. The cultural tendency to categorize romantic media as 'lesser' reflects a gendered hierarchy in media and design. This project challenges that hierarchy by treating the visual language of love as worthy of serious artistic and technological exploration.
