Lego Spirograph Machines

Young Makers (Maker is under 18yo)
7th grade girls at The Hewitt School in Manhattan created drawing robots out of Micro:bits and old Lego robotics motors. Their robots can draw designs like a spirograph, play music, and show fun pictures, too! Come draw with our machines!

What inspired you to make this project?
I am teaching my middle school students how to make creative things with used parts to give them a second life.

What are some of the challenges you have encountered and how did you address them?
Students encountered many challenges in getting their robots to work! They had to problem solve beyond my basic assembly instructions to make their builds more sturdy and include more custom features.
